MACS 2012-2013 Fund

McDonell Central Catholic High School and the McDonell Area Catholic Schools (MACS) are incredibly fortunate to benefit from the generosity of benefactors who consider the MACS Fund a giving priority. Their reasons for giving are varied -- a current family with a vested interest in their child's experience or an alum who desires to give back to their alma mater, an alumni parent grateful for the foundation built during their child's years here as a student, or a friend whose favorable interaction with a student has led to a fondness for the institution. Whatever the motivation for the MACS Fund gift, it is always received with gratitude and a commitment to utilizing it in a way that has the greatest impact on MACS students and teachers.

Philanthropic gifts to our schools are often thought of in terms of the tangible. But the impact of every gift is much more than the facility it helps to build or the equipment it purchases. The true impact is seen in the stories of the students and teachers inside the buildings, using the equipment.

It is not uncommon at MACS to see a student-athlete singing in the winter musical or a elementary student assisting at their local parish during Mass. There really is no typical MACS student, but all are bonded together in a shared experience.

They learn to study hard and challenge themselves. They are encouraged to try new things, and they celebrate uniqueness and individuality within their own community. That is why so many of our students discover passions and interests they never knew existed before coming to MACS, and that is why so many of our graduates credit McDonell Area Catholic Schools with helping them to become the person they are today.

Your generous support of our MACS Fund ensures that our students' experiences will continue to be nothing less than exceptional. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to the McDonell community.

Will you give us one day?

On the Feast of the Epiphany,
St. Charles Primary School was visited by
Deacon Tom Kinnick ('80) and the three Kings.
Each classroom received a blessing for the
new year and a reminder was chalked on
the overhead trim of each doorway.

Please help us grow our Student Tuition Assistance Fund.
Together, our contributions can make a lifetime of difference for our students, our parishes, our community and beyond.  Will you give us one day?  Will you give more than one?

What is the Annual Fund Drive (AFD)?

The Annual Fund Drive is our yearly request for donations from all parents, alumni and friends of the school.  Like other religious schools, MACS provides student aid for families with low to moderate incomes, maintains facilities, attracts and retains exceptional teachers and regularly updates technology. The Annual Fund Drive raises money to fulfill all of these purposes.  Donations are tax deductible as permitted by law.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why does the McDonell Area Catholic Schools (MACS) need an annual fund? Doesn't tuition cover all costs?

We feel strongly about providing an excellent Catholic education to all children in Chippewa Falls. Therefore, no family is charged the total cost of educating a child in the McDonell Area Catholic Schools. MACS strives to keep tuition affordable for all families. We rely on the Annual Fund to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the actual operating costs of running our schools.

Why does my participation matter?

When applying for grants, foundations ask us about the percentage of participation among our various constituents, including the percentage of alumni, parents and friends donating to the Annual Fund. Your gift, no matter the amount, helps us secure other funding for the school because the higher participation rate among our most loyal benefactors the better. Your gift does matter.

Why invest in McDonell Central Catholic High?

McDonell is a school on the move, progressing into the future with great promise. We maintain high academic standards, promote leadership, and encourage a lifelong commitment to Christian community service.

We congratulate David Plendl (class of 2011) National Merit Winner!
